Confidentiality
I have professional and legal obligations to ensure that our sessions are confidential. Please see my privacy policy for more detail about how I deal with your information.
There are the following exceptions to confidentiality:
Supervision: It is standard professional practice to have clinical supervision where I discuss my work with my clients. My supervisor is bound by the same professional and legal obligations as I am.
Risk to Self/Others: If I believe that you are at risk of harming yourself or others, I reserve the right to report this to the relevant organisation. I would always try and discuss this with you before taking action.
Legal or Regulatory Reasons: If it was necessary for the purposes of regulatory or legal proceedings or I was legally required to provide evidence.
Endings
Having an appropriate ending in psychological therapy is important so I ask that when you would like to end our work together that we have the opportunity for an ending session.
Crisis Support:
I am unable to offer crisis support. If you are distressed I will do my best to contact you back when I can but I may not be able to do this in a timely manner.
